"Radical Intimacy" Technique

Personal Life Logo
Susan BrattonSusan Bratton Dr. Patti TaylorDr. Patti Taylor Sloane FoxSloane Fox Tallulah SulisTallulah Sulis

Zoë Kors's new book, Radical Intimacy: Cultivate The Deeply Connected Relationships You Desire and Deserve, is a WINNER.

Her strengths shine during the stories of couples' struggles where you can't imagine how they will solve their thorny issues, and then Zoe fixes everything. Radical Intimacy gives a reader hope that no matter how messed up your childhood, how deep your insecurities are, how bloody and weeping your wounds… there is HOPE! Hope for a fulfilling love relationship.

One of the most poignant stories was about Bree, whose shame about how her vulva looked kept her from physical intimacy. Zoë brilliantly explained that Bree had distorted her core wound of being unlovable into anxiety about the appearance of her genitals. It would have been too horrible to be rejected for who she was as a person and easier to deny herself first by hating her body parts.

Woah.

How many people use body hatred to avoid the fear of being unloved?

That's a PROFOUND insight… and this book is full of those AHA emotional moments. And we all have gaps of maturation in all the areas of intimacy we can work on.

A grid in the book stacks the three kinds of intimacy – emotional, physical, and energetic – with the three levels of intimacy – self, world, and other.

9GRID

My favorite section is Energetic Intimacy.

Zoë writes, "Energetic Intimacy is the experience of feeling deeply connected to someone beyond the utility of speech and touch. Composed of three pillars, presence, humility, and curiosity, energetic intimacy happens when we are entirely attentive and aware of ourselves or another person.

The achievement of this powerful phenomenon requires the willingness to disengage from judgment, assessment, and the assignment of meaning in favor of subtle observation in each moment as it unfolds."

What does that remind you of, Jmonty1945@gmail.com?

The word I'm constantly using is PRESENCE.

Zoë does a marvelous job describing what actual presence is and how you create energetic intimacy through the practice of staying non-judgmental and in the moment with your partner.

Further, she explains that self-doubt and suffering are most often a result of worrying that our feelings are "valid, warranted, and appropriate."

"Do we feel too much, too little, too deeply? Does the expression of our emotions make us feel too big, too small, too scary?"

In Radical Intimacy, you can begin to get in touch with yourself through her distinctions about our feelings. You can start to more fully embrace both your positive and negative emotions instead of avoiding those that are scary. She explains that we use three strategies to block the feelings that overwhelm us: denial, deflection, and distraction.

I know you can relate. We all avoid painful feelings. And this is where she gets into the ways you begin to be able to sustain and manage your emotions, which she calls "emotional independence."

There are three critical aspects of emotional independence: cultivating witness consciousness (perceiving yourself), owning your shit (maturity), and taking responsibility for your impact when you express yourself.

The book has several excellent exercises, including 3 Things I Love About You – a game I've been teaching you for years to deepen your romantic intimacy. If you're not playing it, start now. Life is short.

When we can get curious and open ourselves to another and allow them to be seen, heard, and felt without our judgment or ego, we begin to have radical intimacy.

If you're looking for an excellent new read that will help you experience more connection with yourself, others, and our world, Radical Intimacy is your book.

Now scroll down and grab all the goodies we lovingly created for you this week. There's fun to be had!

Easy Anti-Aging, Heart Health, Detox, Weight Loss, And More

Infrared light therapy has been growing in popularity, and you may have heard the buzz about it. The health benefits that come from infrared therapy are extensive! We are major believers in it and have experienced them firsthand.

Sweating is an excellent way to keep your body healthy.

Alternative medicine has already embraced sauna detoxification as a valid and effective method of ridding your body of unhealthy chemicals and heavy metals. As long as you keep yourself hydrated, the more you safely sweat, the more toxicants you'll expel from your skin and body.

Renowned detoxification expert Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt suggests using far infrared saunas in heavy metal detox protocol. He states that infrared mobilizes specific toxins, like mercury, in deeper tissues making infrared saunas an effective solution for toxin removal.

To stimulate health benefits, saunas need a source to emit high concentrations of peak infrared waves – not just heat. (In physics, this quality is "emissivity.")

Sunlighten worked with chemistry expert Dr. Ronald Lewarchik to develop their patented coating to create a highly emissive surface. This first-of-its-kind heater changed the industry. The result: a unique finish that maximizes the highest quality and quantity of infrared available – SoloCarbon coating. It's on all of Sunlighten's sauna heaters.

SWEAT AND DETOX

There are three types of infrared waves based on wave size, frequency, and the amount of energy they carry. These are near (NIR), mid (MIR), and far (FIR).

Each type offers different effects and benefits to your body. Check out the image below.

Sunlighten gives you the chance to get healthy exposure to all three with its range of infrared products.

If a giant ol' sauna is too much for you, you can check out Sunlighten's Solo Saunas. These are portable varieties of sexy sweating cabins.

Whether you want to go BIG or keep things simple, Sunlighten gives you the chance to experience (and enjoy) the sexy benefits of sauna detoxification.

Sexy sweating is good detox.

Personal Life Logo

Infrared light therapy has been growing in popularity, and you may have heard the buzz about it. The health benefits that come from infrared therapy are extensive! We are significant believers in it and have experienced them firsthand.

Did you know I love to sweat?

One of the health benefits we value the most is detoxification.

Sauna detox has been widely embraced as a healthy treatment in alternative medicine. As the world moves toward more natural and self-directed remedies, sauna detoxification is getting more and more attention.

The build-up of toxic substances can lead to a host of common illnesses. Ridding the body of these toxins through a natural sauna detox may help relieve symptoms, prevent future disease, and increase overall health and vitality.

Learn more about how to naturally sweat out toxins with a Sunlighten infrared sauna by checking out their site below.

Click Here To Know More About Sunlighten ⇐ Medical-Grade, Clinically-Backed, and Proven 99% Effective Sauna Technology (Get $600 OFF on Cabin Saunas and $250 OFF on Solo Saunas. Mention the promo code "SUSAN" when you order.)

SWEAT AND DETOX

If there's a lesson here, it's "Sweating is good for you."

Healthy bodies have healthy cells managing chemical exchanges with nutrients and minerals. Sweating, breathing, and elimination are the three significant ways our body junks junk.

However, chemicals from the environment and the unhealthy food we shove in our mouths can mess up your body's optimal function.

Skipping out on detox can negatively affect your energy, stamina, pain tolerance, sleeping habits, weight management, mental health, etc.

Sunlighten's highly efficient patented SoloCarbon® infrared heating technology gives you the best detoxification experience because it is clinically proven to raise core body temperature by three degrees.

You experience a deep, productive sweat from your cells as the SoloCarbon® infrared waves penetrate your skin and heat your core to expel the toxins, rather than just sitting in hot, ambient air that only heats your outer skin.

This creates an enjoyable experience of more productive sweat than an uncomfortable, stifling hot and less-productive sweat.

In other words, sexy sweating.

There's much more to Sunlighten's tech than just heating the air around you. And I will talk about that in my following email.

For now…

Asking For Changes (Passion Playdates #7)

Personal Life Logo
Susan BrattonSusan Bratton Dr. Patti TaylorDr. Patti Taylor Sloane FoxSloane Fox Tallulah SulisTallulah Sulis

Passion Playdates are when you and your partner set aside a specific time for passion play. You plan for (and look forward to) sensual "private" activities where you come together as beginners to learn new things together.

Think of Passion Playdates as fun "couples' sexercises" that grow and enrich your intimacy – physical and emotional.

This is hot monogamy at its best, and it's also great for singles who date!

Remember our last Passion Playdate all about "Touching For Feedback?"

This next one plays well after that and is called "Asking For Changes."

One person asks the other for changes regarding how they touch, kiss, hug, speak, or anything else they feel is essential in their relationship.

Most of the time, we don't want to ask our partners to change how they're doing because we don't want to hurt their feelings. Or, when we do ask for changes, the other party doesn't receive the request or doesn't implement them.

This Passion Playdate ensures an open communication method for both partners to give and receive requests for changes.

Again, I will use the terms "Giver" for the one giving the pleasure and "Receiver" for the one receiving it. Both roles can be switched as often as you want.

Here's what you and your partner should do.

GIVER ASKS THE RECEIVER

The Giver (for example, the masculine) asks the receiver if she would like small changes in the amount of pressure he is giving her when they hug.

Start with easy-to-answer and straightforward questions. The simpler, the better. Because then it would be much easier to apply.

Here's a basic formula I love to use:

"Would you like me to use more (or less) X?"

X can be speed, pressure, intensity, friction, frequency, or anything you want to talk about. Your partner should simply say yes or no to the answer. Then the Giver says "thank you" as a confirmation they received and understood the Receiver's response.

THE RECEIVER ASKS THE GIVER

Now it's time for the receiver of the pleasure to do the asking.

They ask:

"Would you use more (or less) of x?"

X can be pressure, speed, intensity, friction, and other details. The receiver can also ask to move the pleasure point to the right, left, lower, or higher.

The giver then says, "Thank you," and implements the message.

Then the receiver says, "Thank you. That felt good," or "mmmm, that's nice."

Remember, keep these requests small and easy to start. Then as you both get used to doing this Passion Playdate, gradually move your way up.

This paves the way to a more responsive feedback loop for partners and ensures both of you have a chance to give, receive, and ask for any changes you want to improve your relationship and intimate life.

Just like how this week's articles are meant to give you the kind of relationship you've always wanted and deserved.
