In Defense of "Lazing Around"

There is a lot to be said for lying on the couch, read­ing a book.

Or out­side in the sun­shine on a ham­mock or the patio...

As well as sleep­ing in or going to bed ear­ly...

...mere­ly sit­ting in a com­fy chair, gen­uine­ly lis­ten­ing to a great piece of music.

...hav­ing a meal by can­dle­light with those you love....

....tak­ing a walk in nature... get­ting into some water... cook­ing, bak­ing or repair­ing some­thing around the house...

These are all ways to focus in on the del­i­cate beau­ty of life.

Now more than ever, it's time to be gen­tle with your­self.

If you feel more anx­i­ety, know that it stems from fear.

When you are low on per­son­al, inter­nal resources, fear can take root.

Anx­i­ety is most often root­ed in adren­al exhaus­tion.

It's near­ly impos­si­ble not to be exhaust­ed adren­a­l­ly in today's world.

Sim­mer four or five chunks on low for a few hours on the stove­top in a pot of water. The tea will be ready when it's dark as a cup of Eng­lish Break­fast tea.

Cool and store in the refrig­er­a­tor. Drink a cup in the morn­ing and evening. It has a very mild, sat­is­fy­ing, appeal­ing fla­vor.

The dai­ly rit­u­al of tak­ing care of your adren­a­ls goes a long way in heal­ing the exhaus­tion we are all col­lec­tive­ly expe­ri­enc­ing. Don't for­get to relax and take care of your­self.
